China and the European Space Agency want to develop a partnership to build a Moon village. They are bound to develop a human outpost on our natural satellite. Tian Yulong, the secretary general of China’s space agency, stated that last Wednesday, on April 19, they developed had a talk with representatives from the European Space Agency.
- The European Space Agency and the Chinese space agency are discussing the matter of developing a Moon village.
- China is bound to improve their space exploration program.
- In 2020, the Chinese space agency intends to land on the dark side of the moon.
ESA pointed out that they may use the Moon village as an international launching pad for future missions to Mars. Since 2003, when the first manned spacecraft was launched from the Chinese space agency, China improved its space program. Nevertheless, their progress was slower than the Russians’ since in 2003 they celebrated 42 years since the first Soviet astronaut reached the orbit.
This month, China launched an unmanned spaceship which was bound to dock with their unoccupied space station. The space agency plans to mount their first mission Chang’e-4 to the moon at the end of 2018. This will be an exploration mission of the dark side of the moon to collect data for a future mission scheduled to take place in 2020 when China intends to land on the moon.
The mission scheduled for 2018 will investigate the mineral environment and physical geography of the moon. Some media speculations regarding China space agency’s plans were confirmed. The space agency wants to obtain an incredible achievement for the first time in the history of space exploration, reaching to be called one of the most advanced countries in the development of space missions.
The space agency developed China Lunar Exploration Project which is a 20-year program that was launched in 2003. This project was divided into three stages. The first one is circling the moon, the second one is landing, and the third one is retrieving from the surface of the moon, getting back to Earth. After three Chang’e lunar spaceships had completed their missions, China reached the final phase of their plan when they need to deploy rockets to the moon to take samples and bring them back to Earth for studying.
Tian also argued that China is prone to start their Mars exploration project by 2020. The plan is to circle and then land on the surface of the Red Planet. The space station has already developed a preliminary plan for a Mars mission in 2030 to collect samples and better analyze the planet.
