The holidays are gone but the weight that was gained during that time is probably still there. This is why many people are trying several diets. Doctors recommend you to think twice before following a diet that promises fast weight loss.
- Fast weight loss is advised only in special cases
- The recommended weight loss per week is 1 or 2 pounds
- A good diet should include exercise
- People should get tested in order to see which diet is right for them
Although all of us want to lose the extra weight in a few days it is not healthy. A fast weight loss can do more harm than good. Nutritionists advise people to be careful with the diet they are following. Specialists mentioned that before starting a certain diet we need to make sure that it is the best for us.
If we try a diet that it is not suited for us we might have different results than those we were expecting to see. For instance, some diets require a lot of protein and fewer fruits and vegetables, like the Dukan diet. This is not recommended for everyone because those who have vitamin deficiency can develop other health problems.
There are some special cases when a fast weight loss diet might be recommended by doctors. One of those cases is when the person is suffering from obesity and the additional weight is causing health problems. In this case, doctors might even prescribe a low-calorie diet in order for people to lose that extra weight fast so that they could get rid of the health problems.
Aside from this special case the doctors recommend people to lose 1 or 2 pounds a week. This is the typical recommendation because it is easy to follow and maintain. The longer it takes to lose weight while following the diet the better it is for your body.
Fast weight loss is not advised because when you lose weight fast you actually lose lean tissue and water weight. In order to lose fat, you have to exercise every day and find a diet that it is suited for you. Of course, the best diet includes vegetable, fruits, and white meat.
Which diet have you tried recently? Did it work for you?
