The Manhattan Federal Court Judge Paul Gardephe has sentenced Cannibal Cop’ Gilberto Valle to one year of supervised release for inappropriately accessing an NYPD database. The judge lifted the harsh bail conditions which limited his movements.
Valle said, “I am incapable of violence. I would never do the things I talked about on the Internet. What I need is help, not a prosecution.”
Federal Court Judge cleared Valle’s from charges of conspiracy to kidnap, kill and consume women nearly four months ago. The prosecution was not able to prove the alleged charges
While acting out his fantasy Valle, 30, accessed his patrol car computer and looked for Maureen Hartigan, a female friend and also searched her name in the federal database.
“He had no law enforcement reason for querying Hartigan’s name,” Gardephe said.
Valle’s offense carries a maximum sentence of 1 year in prison. Valle has served 21 months in jail and it included seven in solitary confinement
