It is love this time, McDonald fast food mega chain will be using the old and tested love focused ad campaign to boost its sagging careers. Well Love is already in the air in the present ad of the multistate food chain which reads “I’m Lovin’ It” slogan. McDonald will be highlighting the “lovin’” aspect of the campaign. It has been a year of slumping sales and McDonald wants to turnaround with the power of love behind it.
Following a year of slumping sales, McDonald’s is banking on the power of love to spur a turnaround. U.S. Chief Marketing Officer Deborah Wahl calls it “a brand transformation.”
Wahl says, “This new focus will inspire everything we do moving forward, from advertising and marketing to how we interact with customers in restaurants and on social media.”
The writing was already on the wall and McDonald’s had to do something very soon. It was a tough year with falling sales and to stop the slide, the food chain giant chopped off many confusing menu while adding healthier and fresher food.
The latest television ads as well as online ads will start appearing in the coming weekend. The company had also posted online a new spot which contained an assortment of odd couples- a knight and a dragon, Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote all comfortable with one another and sharing a meal at McDonald’s.
Here are a few catchy punch lines and video which has been posted online by the company-
“Lately, the balance of lovin’ and hatin’ seems off,” Wahl said in a video posted online by the company.
“Who better to stand up for lovin’ than McDonald’s? Lovin’ sits at the heart of our tagline and it sits at the heart of our business.”
The exact budget for the latest ad blitzkrieg is not known.
The reason your company is failing isnt your ad campaign, its the terrible service and food you deliver to your customers; Why not work on that first.
Their horrendous pricing strategy is the reason I don’t eat there anymore. One day, I found myself paying close to $10 for an “extra value meal.” Their crappy food isn’t worth even a quarter of that. For less, I can go to the local bistro and get a real burger and fries.
Edible food might help.
Their food is expensive and their quality is nowhere near on par with the competition. A big problem they have is that where I live, Detroit area, you can get better tasting burgers for less or slightly more than McDonalds, give or take a dollar. Five Guys is a great example. Way better quality burgers for about the same price as McDonalds and their fries are amazing. We have a lot of good “imitation Five Guys” around here that do great burgers for $6-7.
Cutting corners is one of McDonald’s biggest problems. Example: Keeping the oil for their fries too long and not changing it all week which results in brown nasty tasting looking fries. Also, McDonald’s is failing due to too many items on their menu. Doesn’t McDonald’s know the KISS rule. (Keep it simple stupid) They need to go back to the basics like they were back in the day when their food was actually good.
I’m going to equate the terrible service with the terrible wages. Let’s face it, minimum wage job, zero career advancement, not well respected, and have to deal with horrible people all day, everyday. I used to get angry over poor customer service. About 3 years ago I realized, “These people have no incentive to care about what they’re doing.” Then I thought, “Well they could still be respectful toward other people, at a minimum.” Then I realized how many hundreds of people can a single person maintain that toward of civility toward, day in and day out, without cracking or having horrible days…or weeks?? How do they maintain? So well it is annoying, the bottom line is that they get paid poorly, probably live poor lives, and in all honesty I’m impressed that they go to work. I haven’t been angry in a customer service situation in years. Annoyed, yes, but the anger is gone.
Oh my God. I was at a McDonald’s drive-thru when a worker came out to empty the fat/oil. I watched them pump it out into the storage container and about puked. Did I still eat my food? Of course. Their food isn’t great, or really all that cheap anymore, but I still eat it. Not sure why, probably due to the pure convenience. I don’t eat there as much anymore, because of the other quick burger places that taste better, but every once in a while…
Meh, the real problem isn’t the terrible wages, its the respect part We don’t respect those who work at the bottom of the food chain and in return they don’t respect us or their job.
I did the same! I was like, “Wait, how much was all of this?” The Big Mac meal is very pricey, but I’ve also realized that it’s a trend at a lot of fast food places now. If you buy a taco bell soft taco meal you can spend up to $6-7 or more depending on the location. Also, in my area the pricing is different depending on the location of the restaurant. They’re not all priced the same.
Is anyone else horrified at the idea of a companies ad strategy being treated as news?

You are right. We know they don’t get paid well, we treat them like crap, and in return they do the same, but it really is the wages. Higher pay promotes a higher level of respect. I can tell you for a fact that my managers or bosses would not get the same respect if their employees knew they were paid less. Also, I have friends that work at Costco. You wouldn’t think, “Oh you work at the equivalent of Meijer, Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club”, would get them respect, but they get it. People hear you work at Costco and they treat you differently than if you said Wal-Mart or Meijer.
Well, I think fast food chain jobs are teenagers who want to make a few bucks or for older people who just want to get out of the house. These type jobs are not for people looking to get paid serious money.
Good point. Do you remember the time when they interrupted the interview of a politician talking about an important bill for the Justin Beiber court appearance? Look that one up on YouTube. The reporter was like, “We need to interrupt this interview for a breaking news story.”, then cut to Justin B clip. Insanely embarrassing.
Be strong. Stand up and tell McDonald’s that you love yourself way too much to eat the items they are selling. The Fast Food industry has to make changes here in the US. We are not given the same higher quality food items that they must serve across the pond in the EU. Our country allows all the chemicals and non-food ingredients that most of us wouldn’t feed to our pets. Give up your Coke or Pepsi, and the pink slime meat, the french fries that are not made from freshly cut potatoes (except at In and Out). Your body will thank you.
Unfortunately, processed foods are here to stay. I think they’ll get better with time and research. There are too many people on this planet for us to all eat organic vegetables and grain fed cows. I agree that we need to all give up Coke, but dang it’s so good. I hate how good it tastes, but it sure makes you feel like crap.
I agree, but unfortunately the service industry is now the biggest employer in America. You can’t say, “These types of jobs are not for people looking to get paid serious money”, when these types of jobs are some of only jobs available. Also, I think the wages are low even for teenagers. In addition to that, I happen to live in an area where a lot of teens work to support the family. It’s shocking how many of teens here work, not to make “extra money”, but to support the family – pay rent, electricity, put food on the table. There are kids here now who work during the week instead of going to school. They do, “virtual learning”. I used to provide technical support to those kids. I would call the house, “is so and so home”, and someone would say, “nope, they’re at work, they don’t get home until 5 or 6”. I’m like, shouldn’t they be studying or at school or something? Nope. They’re not. They’re working at McDonald’s and helping mom and dad make the next car payment. Granted, this isn’t a majority of kids, but that gives you an idea of the types of people working at McDonald’s. That could could care less if your burger gets a pickle when it shouldn’t.
Plain and simple, McDonalds needs to go back to basics. They need to go to their basic menu like back in the day with the hamburger, cheeseburger, quarter pounder, Mc chicken, fillet of fish, and the Big Mac and once in a while bring back the McRib and that is about it as far as burgers.

Macs is making the same mistake that Obama makes. He keeps thinking that people do not like his policies because they do not understand the message. People don’t like Obama’s policies because they are bad.
McD’s is not going to improve sales by creating another jingle. People are now avoiding their products because they are of poor quality and priced too high for what you get. The people do get and understand their messages. The problem is, the product does not live up to the hype.
I forgot to add in my last post regarding which burgers they should bring back. I also wanted to add the basic dessert like the ice cream and the apple pie also maybe they can keep the coffee because their coffee is good and much cheaper than Starbucks and of course their signature French fries everyone loves, but I can’t stress it enough, they have to seriously concentrate on the quality of food. It is all about the quality, not quantity. I believe, if they do this, their sales will start to skyrocket.
This is pathetic. The food barely qualifies as non-toxic and they’re going to use a blue heart to make up for it.
They should just turn into a cafe. The only thing I buy there is latte because it’s the only good product they sell, in Canada.
If I ever I want to give up on life and become obese I’ll eat there.

I agree the workers just don’t care, if they made 9-10 an hr they would strive to keep their jobs and would have to stay competitive. At minimum wage why try when you can literally go anywere for that. As well the screening process for new employees would be stricter given the higher paid price for work.
That is sad that the parents are making their kids go out and pay for a car payment all because their parents decided to make poor decisions earlier in life and now they are playing catch up at their kid’s expensive.
McDonalds has to stop delivering heart attack, cancer, diabetes, obesity, erectile dysfunction, etc, to customers. That would be some real love. Scientific studies show meat and dairy cause us all kinds of nasty illnesses, and that they are ‘just as bad as smoking’.
1. McDonalds should stop getting meat from animals living in torturous factory farms which cause the animals to be constantly sick and infected, leading to use of antibiotics and toxic chemicals to wash the meat.
2. Serve delicious veggie options. Beyond Meat has been taste-tested to be just as good as meat, but much more nutritious and healthier. Some even prefer it over real meat. If Beyond Meat can do it, why not a big company like McDonalds?
