Sarah Palin has landed herself once again in trouble after posting a picture of her son Trig standing on her family dog Jill. The picture went viral and after a chorus of criticisms by animal rights and Twitter users, Palin has hit back hard. She called the PETA a hypocritical organization. She even in a statement to NBC, ask her critics to kiss her okole (Okole in Hawaiian dialect means butt)
The ex-Alaskan governor added, “They’re not attacking me because I showed people a special needs child and his happy, healthy, beloved service dog; they’re attacking me because, well, I’m me. So what’s new? PETA throws raw meat in front of their attack dogs and says sic ’em, and we have a choice in how to react to these kind of haters who’ll keep on hating. We either accept their attacks as stumbling blocks, or see them as stepping stones to make a point about truth.”
PETA was unconvinced with Palin’s sweet message with the picture and instead lashing out at her for the photo:
“It’s odd that anyone — let alone a mother — would find it appropriate to post such a thing, with no apparent sympathy for the dog in the photo. Then again, PETA, along with everyone else, is used to the hard-hearted, seeming obliviousness of this bizarrely callous woman, who actually thought it appropriate to be filmed while turkeys were being slaughtered right behind her in full view of the camera.”
PETA added it “simply believes that people shouldn’t step on dogs, and judging by the reaction that we’ve seen to Sarah Palin’s Instagram photo, we’re far from alone in that belief.”
