Based on the official announcement that the e-retailer made on Wednesday, Amazon’s Home services are now available in 15 more U.S. States. The move is meant to expand Amazon’s services and to enable the company to gain profit from sources other than those related to online product sales.
Last March, Amazon announced their decision to enter the home services field by providing customers the possibility to hire a professional to carry out various maintenance jobs. The new service has proven highly profitable; therefore, the company is now expanding Home Services to 15 more U.S. states.
So far, only clients in the biggest states could gain access to these services, more specifically, those living in New York, Los Angeles, Seattle and San Francisco. Starting with the following weeks residents in Atlanta, Washington D.C, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, San Diego and other states will simply have to access Amazon in case they need a plumber, a computer programmer or even a Yoga instructor.
The official announcement on the e-retailer’s website wrote that Amazon intends to make the purchase of a service just as simple as the purchase of a product. Representatives have further reassured old and new customers that service providers are carefully verified before advertising on their website because Amazon wants to make sure that their customers benefit only of the best services and products.
In addition to the introduction of the new Home Services, Amazon has taken the current opportunity to announce customers that their range of services has also been expanded. Thus, customers may now opt for many more categories in their Home Services range from electronics installation to home painting jobs.
Amazon has made similar efforts in the past to increase their presence in the e-commerce field. For this purpose, they have set up a new cloud computing division which provides support for tech companies like Netflix and Pinterest. Among other investments, Amazon was also among the first producers to introduce its Kindle e-reader and other similar devices.
Amazon plans to introduce their new Home Services across international countries, as well. They have already hinted in the past that they are very interested in conquering the market of Latin America by opening a new online storefront in Mexico.
Bloomberg’s recent data related to the market evolution of Amazon looks very promising. The company has already registered a 20 percent growth last year and figures will continue to grow due to the recent investments that the company has made. Their 2015 revenue is expected to be 16% higher than the income registered in 2014.
