Australian woman spent $500 to save her goldfish

An Australian woman spends 500 dollars to save her goldfish from choking on a pebble. Emma Marsh, who is 21 years old, saw that her fish name Conquer had some issues after he wanted to eat a pebble that was too big for it.  When she saw that things are getting worse, she went to Brisbane’s own Bird and Exotics Veterinary Service.

There, the veterinarian, Emma McMillan, used an anaesthetic into the water of the fish to make him fall asleep. After that, she was able to dislodge the stone from its mouth. She said the stone was about 8-9 mm, which was too big for the little creature. If the owner had not brought him, the fish would have died from hunger. The unusual thing is that that anaesthetic costs almost 400 dollars.  However, this was not a problem for the owner who wanted to see her fish alive, no matter how expensive it would be.

The bill for the treatment was 500 dollars, because she had to give 100 dollars for consultation. Moreover, Conquer spent one night in the hospital to recover. Some people are able to do anything they can for their pets. However, some would say it is unusual for someone to spend so much money on a fish, having in mind that a goldfish can be bought at 12 dollars.

People are different and they are investing money in things they love. Some could spend 1000 dollars on a jacket, while others would visit places they have never been before. No matter what they decide, it is important to do things you enjoy.  Saving an animal’s life is an impressive thing. This shows that people really love their animals and would do anything to protect them. It does not matter if we speak about a big dog or about a small goldfish. By taking care of our pets, we could be paying more attention to the endangered species, who also need our help.  We are able to save lives if we want . We are sure that animals are priceless for many people.
