Bipartisan Healthcare Fix Could Be Delivered in a Week

Ohio Republican Gov. John Kasich and Colorado Democrat Gov. John Hickenlooper are currently working on altering the ObamaCare program. Their aim is to agree on a comprehensive, bipartisan healthcare fix that would update the bill to Trump administration’s requests and the benefit of U.S. citizens. They just claimed that the final result could be ready in a week’s time.

The Bipartisan Healthcare Fix Might Be Called to Hearings in Front of the Senate Health Committee by the End of August

Kasich took part in a joint interview with his colleague Hickenlooper. The Republican stated that their staff members are collaborating with one another to address the issue with the failed healthcare proposal.

However, they have already reached several common grounds on this mission. On top of that, Kasich notified Hickenlooper and the public as well that the project might come to fruition in a week.

The bipartisan healthcare fix concerns more the insurance markets that the two opposing lawmakers want to stabilize. Their plan will reach the Senate Health Committee which in their turn hope to find a solution by mid-September. Therefore, the two governors are expecting to participate in hearings as soon as this month.

The New Plan Might Unburden Employers from Covering Insurance Once They Hire 50 Employees

Kasich’s main proposal was to unlock funds for ObamaCare payments. This move is called cost-sharing reductions. On the other hand, the plan drew upon itself the disagreement of the President Donald Trump.

At the same time, Hickenlooper put efforts in another funding project that would bring premiums down. This way, insurers would be able to cover the costs for some of their most ill customers. This program is better known as reinsurance.

These plans would check out on the Republican list of priorities a milder mandate for employers that ObamaCare imposed. Employers might receive another threshold of hired employees that would force them to start providing coverage for their staff. At the moment, businesses with at least 50 employees have to provide such healthcare insurance.

There is another bipartisan group at the White House dubbed as the Problem Solvers. They are working on similar ideas for a bipartisan healthcare fix as well.
