The influence of gaming in our modern world is a constant expansion, and a California theme park will get a 4D Mass Effect ride to better immerse fans of the franchise into the fictional world.

It has not been detailed yet what the ride will entail, but BioWare is singing its praises already. According to the developer, the new attraction will be a “3D adventure se in the Mass effect universe”. That could range from explosive action on the ground of a war-riddled planet or exciting flying through the Milky Way.
Regardless of the actual purpose, they have boasted it to present with “cutting edge 3D technology and 4D effects”, by teaming up with Cedar Fair and the California Great America theme park. There are boundless of areas they could explore. The universe’s futuristic notes and technologically creative design could be put to incredibly fun use.
It has already proved itself to build a strong franchise and a vast fanbase, so the potential could certainly be there. All that remains to be seen is how the publisher and the park decide to tackle their new ride.
According to BioWare, the interactive ride “will take guests to a journey on a distant planet”, where they will have to battle against foes in order to be heroes outside the screen. Visitors will also have a live performer to guide or help them through the adventure.
A combination of 4D with an actual person to assist might be an interesting approach, though with very details to go on, it’s difficult to form a conclusion.
Neither BioWare nor the California Great America theme park in Santa Clara, California, offered more information about the thrilling action of the upcoming ride. The park will be modernizing their Action Theater for the futuristic adventure. Now, both companies are hard at work to provide both fans of the franchise and visitors with a holographic theater.
Mass Effect will reportedly replace Happy Feet in the California’s park Great America Action Theater.
Ubisoft has announced similar intentions with a plan in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, but on a larger scale and to officially open in 2020. It’s long ways away, and will certainly be much grander.
