The mass-produced beverage that everybody loves seems to fail in satisfying some tastes and therefore craft beer is on the rise in 2016.
- Craft beer is becoming more popular
- In the last decade 4,000 breweries opened around the country
- Universities will offer craft brew programs starting this year
People are becoming unsatisfied with the commercial brands of beer that fail to rise to higher standards and are mostly perceived by consumers as ‘watery’. This is why, many people are looking for craft brews in local liquor stores or local bars but they all seem unwilling to sell craft beer and exceptions are very rare.
Of course, there are beer enthusiasts who have decided to brew their own beer to satisfy their own tastes. Since craft beer is so hard to find these days, why not have your own home brewery. Statistically speaking, craft beer represents about 11 percent of the beer produced in the U.S.
Soon, craft beers will come in cans and be commercialized around the country. But crafting your own beer is not that easy. Especially if you’re looking to commercialize it as competition is rough. Over the past decade, about 4,000 breweries have opened in the US.
Besides having the passion for beer and the right equipment you also need to have the know-how. You need to know recipes and you need to know what you can or you cannot put in a beer to make it good enough to sell. Plus, don’t forget about everything a startup need to succeed such as marketing and management departments.
To make sure craft breweries are going to create and offer to consumers high-quality products, universities around the country are now offering specialized programs. These programs are meant to prepare a future beer brewer to not only brew but also to manage his or her business without having to hire too many people to do different tasks.
University craft brewing programs can be also found online and offer courses for business management, sales and marketing and even human resources. Of course, at the end of the program you will get a certificate of completion. If you want a more practical experience some universities offer courses that are held in local breweries so you can actually get a sense of what you’ll be getting into.
All in all, the crafted beer industry seems to become more and more popular and we’ll soon have access to all kinds of craft brewed beers of high-quality.
