In another update, a ‘Donate Now’ button will be available on Facebook for non-profit organizations who battle various issues, diseases and disorders, that require public donations to reach their ambitious and hopeful goals.
All the 1.4 billion Facebook users will now have a much easier time donating to the cause of their desire, and have been given one simple step of offering funds to an organization that is much in need.
The social media giant had previously released the ‘Donate Now’ button for non-profit organizations back in 2013, such as the Red Cross, American Cancer Society or World Wide Fund for Nature, all partners with Facebook.
However, the company is now broadening their horizons and offering more freedom to others who are equally passionate about helping people in need worldwide. The new ‘Donate Now’ button will be featured directly on the brand cover, in link ads or page posts, which will greatly help speed up the process.
With one click, the user will be redirected to the section of the cause’s official website in order to place their donation, no matter the sum. Before though, they will see the pop up disclaimer that Facebook is not in any way affiliated with the company or is endorsing the non-profit organization, likely due to security measures, as the actual transfer will not be taking place on their website.
The social media networking website has become one of the biggest platforms to spread awareness and raise support for various causes, or help guide others toward the charity they require. The growing popularity which is now dominating over all its competition can be used for a good cause, so more and more people are finding its beneficial use.
Everyone is connected, and it opens windows of opportunity for non-profit organizations to make their voice heard, along with offering users the proper means of donating to their favorite causes or the ones that strikes closest to their hearts.
Facebook has now made the steps a bit simpler, by allowing more than just their partners take advantage of a feature that is a call-to-action and aims to make connections much easier. It’s perhaps not much, but smaller groups might truly benefit from a quicker donation process.
Several organizations, such as the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, might certainly see a benefit, as the phenomenon is already highly popular on Facebook and the ‘Donate Now’ button might surely help with speeding up the process. News Feeds everywhere were overtaken by videos of people dumping buckets of ice cold water on their heads.
The second generation of the non-profit organization battle against ALS is now undergoing and users are able to click the button and further their cause to help find better treatments for the crippling condition, along with many others.
