In an attempt to improve its storing services and to provide additional options to its customers, Dropbox releases new app for Android devices. The changes that have been operated on the program are meant to make it more accessible and faster for Android-based gadgets.
Dropbox has not underwent major redesigns in the past five years, but the San Francisco-based company is keen on making various changes this year. On Tuesday, the app developer has disclosed that their new Dropbox app has been purposefully designed to bring cloud-based storage services to Android users.
According to the official declarations of the company’s spokespersons, the first change that has been operated on the application was to cut down the number of tabs to four.
Thus, users won’t have to go through so many tabs to perform the four basic activities they are normally interested in, namely, to add files and photos, to save favorite pages and to add notifications.
The Favorite page has been in developers’ attention for a long time as the company wanted to improve the looks and feels of this page. Users can now add files in this category that can be accessed even during the offline time.
Tech analysts claim the offline option of the Favorite category has been available in the past, as well. However, the name of the page has been changed to reflect this makeover, developers have concluded.
Most customers have complained in the past because they could not search for a specific file in the Dropbox folder. The company has responded that the search button was available in the settings category, but they have, nevertheless, came up with a solution for this problem: the search button was now added on top of the screen where clients can easily notice and access it.
Dropbox was initially created as an online service that facilitates cloud-based file storage. The online platform has been promoted as a professional service, but the developing company claims it can just as well be used to store photos and videos.
This feature has now become even easier to use thanks to the button on the bottom-right corner of the app. Users only have to push the ‘plus’ button and they can immediately browse and add new images.
The sharing options have been gathered in a single location and can be accessed with the help of the special home button. Here, customers, can select the persons they want the files to be available for, as well as the folders where they want the documents to be saved.
Dropbox might be considering new changes in the future in order to make the app even more accessible to its clients.
