Defenders of Wildlife, the Center for Biological Diversity, the Endangered Wolf Center and the Wolf Conservation Center are going to sue the US Fish and Wildlife Service demanding a recovery plan in place for the highly endangered Mexican gray wolves. It has also asked the court to monitor and ensure that the request is complied with.
Defenders of Wildlife, the Center for Biological Diversity, the Endangered Wolf Center and the Wolf Conservation Center are the plaintiffs in the suit which was filed on Wednesday in the federal court.
The US Fish and Wildlife Service were not available for comment.
The wolf reintroduction program for the eastern Arizona and western New Mexico has been plagued by politics, illegal killings and other factors. There have been a number of disputes over the management of the predators which also spawned a number of legal actions by both environmentalists and ranchers.
In the latest legal plea, the environmentalist charged the federal government for not doing anything over the last 38 years to protect the wolves.
