Horizon: Zero Dawn will feature its first major DLC, The Frozen Wilds
This year’s E3 brought a lot of news on upcoming IP and DLC releases, and offered exquisite treats for gamers. Horizon: Zero Dawn was released at the beginning of 2017, and now will receive its first story DLC. The content was announced by Sony, together with the developer Guerrilla Games, and it’s going to be called The Frozen Wilds.
- E3 2017 brought the announcement of the first major DLC for Horizon: Zero Dawn.
- It will be called The Frozen Wilds, and it already features a trailer.
- The DLC should be ready for release later this year.
The trailer shows the main character, Aloy, exploring a vastness full of ice and thick snow. This vastness is guarded by a mountain spewing ash into the air, like a fierce dragon watching over an ice realm. The game couldn’t be complete without a beast most surely hiding secrets which need to be unraveled.
However, the trailer does not present any details on gameplay, wanting to keep the players in suspense. They could only see the new setting and appearance but, as the first major DLC, The Frozen Wilds will certainly bring plenty of new content. Fortunately, E3 is not over yet, so Sony might offer more information before the end of the event.
Horizon: Zero Dawn was released in February this year, and was heartily welcomed by game critics and fans. The game presents how Aloy, the protagonist, wanders from her home in the mountains and faces a new world. It also offers a complex insight into the history of this world, and robotic life plays an important role in its evolution.
Horizon: Zero Dawn is currently available only for PlayStation 4, and neither Sony nor Guerrilla Games announced if other versions are in the making. As for The Frozen Wilds DLC, they didn’t reveal an exact date for its release. Fortunately for the fans, it should be ready to hit the market later this year.
