Alligator

A ten-year-old girl escaped from an alligator’s jaws by gouging its nostrils

A girl from Orlando, Florida, miraculously managed to escape from the jaws of an 8-ft alligator. The girl gouged the nostrils of the predator, forcing it to open its mouth and let her go. She declared that she had learnt this trick during a visit at Gatorland in Sunshine State.

On Saturday, the little girl aged 10 was enjoying a sunny day in Moss Park, Orange County. She was sitting in a lake with shallow water, which measured roughly 2 feet. Suddenly, an alligator appeared and attacked the girl.

  • The girl used a trick learnt at Gatorland to escape from the alligator’s bite.
  • She gouged its nostrils and made it open its mouth, thus letting her go.
  • The bite she suffered was not life-threatening.

The predator was twice her size, and clutched her leg with its jaw. Instead of panicking, the clever girl came up with the idea of using a sneaky trick she remembered from a visit to the alligator-themed park Gatorland.

The trick consisted of gouging the nostrils of the alligator, so it could no longer breathe. Therefore, the only way for it to get air was to open its mouth, which helped the girl escape from grappling of the jaws. This event baffled everyone, as managing to escape from the bite of such a huge predator is quite unheard of.

Although she escaped, the girl suffered wounds, and she was sent to a hospital. The wounds were caused by the puncture, but the officials are optimistic and say that her life is not in danger. Donald Aldarelli, the spokesman for Gatorland, is happy that the girl is safe thanks to a trick heard in their park.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) declared that they had documented 388 alligator attacks in Florida since 1948. From all these, 24 were fatal. After this incident, they captured the alligator in question and killed it, so that it won’t attack any more people in the park.
