Based on the company’s recent announcement, Google introduces Ethernet Adapter for Chromecast in exchange of $15. The new product gives users the possibility to connect their devices to a distant Wi-Fi spot using a cable, but it is yet uncertain that the new adapter will convince Google’s customers to give it a try.
There are many reasons why customers may be willing to purchase Google’s Ethernet Adapter for Chromecast, one of them being the small price that the firm has set. However, the 2.4 GHz frequency that the new adapter guarantees might prevent customers from purchasing it. Especially, since items in the same category range guarantee a larger band width.
In spite of the small downside, market reports indicate that Google Online Store has already run out of Ethernet Adapters since Wednesday, the official day when the product was launched. According to the product specifications, the device is compatible with streaming apps, such as, Netflix and YouTube.
Ethernet Adapter has to be connected to Chromecast through a USB cable and then to the router, using a cable. Developers guarantee that the Chromecast will, thus, get connected to a reliable wireless network and the streaming speed will be three times faster than the one of the previous models.
Google first launched the Ethernet Adapter in 2013, when it soon became customers’ first choice in terms of streaming apps. Clients have been particularly pleased that they could access and view various types of video files using the small gadget from Google.
Nevertheless, there was high time the developing company introduced a new revamped model as users were hoping they could get faster Internet connection. The competition in this area is rather strong, especially since Lenovo launched its Lenovo Cast media streaming device in May.
Lenovo’s media gadget might be somewhat pricey compared to Google’s Ethernet Adapter for Chromecast. The former may be acquired in exchange of $49, but it also guarantees support for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz network bands.
The developing team at Lenovo allowed users to access the content of their mobile devices on the Lenovo Cast monitor. In addition, the device is also smaller and easier to carry around, so Google’s Ethernet Adapter for Chromecast is definitely facing major competition.
