For the users who don’t just want to have the latest upgrades but also want to keep pace with the latest fashion trends, Google launches new designs for Android Wear.
- The 9 new designs are created by famous brands
- Android Wear already has 1,500 watch faces
- Apple Watch looks more high-tech and less ‘watchy’
Traditional watches seem to be already a thing of the past and only people who are old-fashioned or really want to not be engulfed in technology still buy and use them. Smart watches are definitely one of the most searched items on the market, especially since Christmas is coming.
The great competition is between Apple Watch and Android Wear. Although the smart watches are relatively new, their popularity has grown very high very fast. Obviously, Apple Watch users boast to have the best watch there is which comes with all the great features you might need and gets constantly upgraded so it should always be as new.
But the design of the Apple Watch might be disappointing to many. This smartwatch has a very minimalistic design which is eye-pleasing, but doesn’t necessarily impress. Moreover, it screams ‘high-tech’.
On the other hand, Android Wear has a more traditional design, looking more similar to a classic watch. And this type of design seems to be more appealing to customers, attracting even the more conservative watch-users we’ve mentioned before.
And now, Android Wear has 9 new faces from which users can choose. Google has launched these new designs that were actually created by iconic names from the fashion industry. These brand names are: Mango, Asics, Y-3, Nicole Miller, Vivienne Tam, Ted Baker, Zoe Jordan, Melissa Joy Manning and Harajaku Kavaii!
All of the faces are available for both round and square models and you can order them from Google Play if you’re an Android user. iPhone users will be able to order a new designs in a few days.
Adding these 9 new designs, made Android Wear reach a number of 1,500 face models. This is what offering a wide range of designs truly means. In terms of design, the Apple Watch is really quite far behind as they chose to not offer any new faces when they upgraded to the watchOS 2.0.
Therefore, if you do care about how you’re smart watch looks you will probably be more tempted to try the new designs of Android Wear from Google.
