As Google rolled out their latest anti-phishing and anti-spamming tools, here are our first impressions on Google’s Gmail Postmaster tools. The company introduced these new email features on Thursday to allow “qualified high-volume” email senders to better direct their messages to their customers’ inbox folders.
Google has paid great attention to anti-phishing and anti-spamming methods in the past years as many customers have complained that they receive too many spam messages. For that matter, Google introduced Artificial Neural Networks – a system that enables Gmail accounts to learn users’ preferences.
According to the search giant, the artificial intelligence system relies on a network of neurons, much like the human brain does. These neural connections learn what emails should be kept and which should be automatically directed to the spam folder, based on the actions that users perform on their Gmail accounts.
Developers at Google told the press that they have opted for this particular network because each customer has different preferences and they needed a system to help them personalize their accounts.
Now that spamming has been reduced by 99%, according to Google, it was about time that the developing company introduced a tool for acknowledged “high-volume” senders, as well. Hence, the Gmail Postmaster tools, which allow companies to direct their email messages to customers’ inbox folders.
The tool was necessary as many companies claim anti-spamming techniques cause them to wrongfully deliver their messages. The latter usually end up in the spam folder and remain unnoticed by customers.
The Postmaster tool also enables users to measure the effects of their email messages with the help of Google Analytics. Thus, these customers can now learn the mistakes they make and avoid them in the future so their email would be better directed. Moreover, they can work to improve their reputation by simply reading the reports provided by Analytics.
Online companies have all praised Google’s decision to introduce the Gmail Postmaster tool as qualified senders also needed features to improve their messages, not only email users. Additional features might be added in the future, when Google learns more about its customers’ needs and preference in terms of Gmail usage.
