Graduation Rates Are Up in Florida

Although not so many people used to graduate high-school, now graduation rates are up in Florida as well as in other American states.

The importance of a high-school graduation diploma is mostly understood by the people who’ve there and done that. If they graduated they know how this helped them to succeed in life. If they didn’t graduate, they know how much they had to struggle to succeed.

However, the ones who should understand the importance of graduating high-school are the students. Unfortunately most of them are preoccupied by other things and fail to look into the future.

Nevertheless, recently there’s been an increase in the number of people who earn their high school diplomas with a percentage of 77.8 in Florida students. Of course, graduation rates varied across the county but most high schools have registered an increase.

The Department of Education has also announced that graduation rates across the U.S. have risen to 82 percent which is the highest they have ever been. This predicts a future success for the next generation of employees which is more likely to have a big salary.

According to research having a high school diploma increases you chances of getting a job and apparently also of living longer. Besides, you are also less likely to end up in jail. The main reason why the number of graduates increased lately is that there have been less students dropping out of school.

Although the phenomenon still exists, there is hope that the drop out rate will decrease as high schools are starting to pay more attention to potential drop-out “candidates” and work on keeping them from drifting away.

They follow up the students’ attendance and they offer extra help. They also added extra minutes to the school day and extra periods. Therefore, students have a better chance of catching up on credits.

As a high school student, if you graduate you have mainly two possibilities: get a job or go to college. Either option can be good, depending on your wishes, but you can only do it if you have a high school diploma. More and more people are going to college which will also eventually add extra money to their salaries and they will probably get a better job than the ones who stick only to the high school diploma.
