This one could be debated among avid gym goers, as it could be heaven or hell for a man trapped in a gym, who shortly recorded the accident. The video went viral, though while he seemed gravely worried about being all alone in a fitness center, some might argue that it’s the perfect setting.
There would be no one there to occupy your desired machines or leave weights scattered everywhere across the floor. Only complete silence and yourself. It could certainly be viewed as both the worst situation possible in a gym or a haven for gym monkeys who are beyond serious about their workout.
When Nick Clayton chose to attend to his workout that day and end it with a relaxing session in the sauna, he most certainly intended to go back home afterwards. The man who regularly attended the gym has reportedly being inside the steam room for 15 minutes, with headphones on, which made it impossible to hear the overhead announcement.
Once he stepped outside, he found that there was no one else there. It could be comparable to the first ten minutes of the Walking Dead, completely alone in a public facility that should be littered with both staff and customers. Luckily for him, it was not set in a fictional world with zombies waiting just outside.
Regardless, the man recorded his reaction upon finding himself abandoned in a fitness center in Los Angeles, following it up with both confusion and slight wonder at why it even closed at 5 o’clock in the afternoon. Admittedly, that is quite an early hour for a gym to close, considering many fitness aficionados attend to their workouts after work.
Clayton followed with the question of what he should do, at one point considering calling the police. However, he later on expressed the worry that he might’ve been questioned upon purposefully hiding or even breaking into the place. The worry of an alarm was suddenly put into question.
Though it might’ve taken a small band of thieves to successfully rob a gym full of heavy equipment in broad daylight.
Clayton reportedly called his mom, who also found humor in the situation and claimed to have laughed. There was little to be done from the outside, at least apparently. The man phoned another fitness center in LA after that was still open, and was then instructed to simply exit and that everything would be just fine.
It does stand to question why the staff didn’t check the bathrooms or the saunas, but considering the solution was to simply walk out with no alarms set off, it might be a more curious matter what they’re preventive measures are for people breaking in. Perhaps Los Angeles is simply the home of ever trusting and honest people.
