Given the wide spread appliance of technology, nowadays, it has become redundant to include this word in the description of certain products or companies. It is also the conclusion that managers at Logitech have reached.
Logitech is now undergoing a rebranding campaign after they have decided to shorten their company’s name and to make it a little more personal. Logitech has, in fact dropped the tech and is now simply called Logi, which is pronounced ‘Lodge – ee’.
Please note, however, that the “Logi” name will only affect Logitech’s latest and newest product categories. It will mostly be introduced for products in the category of mobility, so that the name we have all come to know and love, “Logitech” will still be used on the majority of products, especially in traditional categories such as PC peripherals.
Adding determinants to a company’s name is highly recommended, especially when the enterprise is trying to win customers’ trust. Logitech was good enough because it allowed clients to understand what the main objective of the firm was and what services it provided.
However, it’s been quite some time now since Logitech or, better say, Logi has started delivering other products in addition to their well-known mice. Many accessories on the market wear the company’s logo; therefore, the new logo and name needed to reflect this wider umbrella of options.
The video that the company has launched to inform people in relation to their rebranding campaign, introduces clients to the jolly and colorful side of the company. The old logo with a popp-up drawing on top of the company’s name has been dropped in favor of a more simplistic ‘Logi’.
Based on the presentation video, it is safe to assume that Logi will incorporate many lively colors and shades to their devices. The footage displayed various people using Logi’s products against pink, blue and yellow backgrounds.
Some analysts think making a name change is a risky strategy, but Darrell is not afraid of any negative consequences. On the contrary, the CEO believes Logitech has made a good reputation among consumers and is now capable of rebranding itself. The first analyses indicate that consumers were pleased with the friendlier and easy-going look that the tech enterprise has put on.
The CEO concluded his interview by saying that the current name change has been in the making since 2013. The devices that the company delivered in the previous years have all been designed with this sole purpose in mind. Consumers should expect to see bold shades and simple designs in Logi’s future portfolio.
