It might not be the most anticipated videogame of this fall, but it’s certainly one of them, so start your engines because Mad Max is close to launch, and it’s arriving with exclusive content for PlayStation 4 users. Perhaps it isn’t much, but it’s free and will allow further in-game customization.
The exclusive content will imply 12 hood ornaments to adorn Max’s Magnus Opus, the protagonist’s car that players will have to build up as they progress through the game. The additions will reportedly be purely a matter of aesthetics, and will only influence the car’s aspect, as opposed to its functions.
They will feature several designs that will not be available on Xbox One or the PC until November 30th of this year. So, it cannot count as the biggest exclusive release ever done in history, but it’s perhaps best to keep things as equal as possible, and it’s probably a good decision on the developer’s part to highlight one of its platforms just by a little.
Avalanche will soon release the Mad Max game, and it will feature the well known wasteland of The Big Nothing, with a vast map for players to explore, explosive combat and the brooding hero’s survival when he has lost everything, his family, his car, and his sanity upon the sands.
Players will be able to explore the arid world to near endless limits, and continue driving until they “get bored or killed”, according to senior producer John Fuller. The view is quite stunning and the graphics are reportedly striking for the 1080 support on both XboxOne and PlayStation 4.
The sands and dust of the desolated wasteland captures the very essence we have come to know from George Miller’s Mad Max, who has also been involved with the creation of game’s world. There are furious sand storms, lighting storms, and eccentric characters with disturbing aspects that will guide, aid or impair Max’s progress to his goal.
Survival is the key, and the vast world of the Big Nothing will feature a near uncountable number of factors which will move to stand in his way. Around 60% of the in-game combat is presumed to happen within your vehicle, as expected from a franchise that has gained a certain popularity due to creative styles of fighting within, around or above cars.
It could be an excellent representation of the world that gamers hope Avalanche has created in the most authentic and fun way possible. The open world RPG will be released on September 1st on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
