Microsoft has announced the purchase Aorato an Israel-based startup in its blog on Thursday. The purchase by Microsoft is believed to enhance Active Directory’s security Relevant Products/Services with machine learning technology. The terms of the deal has not been disclosed. However Wall Street Journal has reported the purchase price was $200 million.
Aorato technology provides intelligent security protection, products as well as services within networks by studying normal network Relevant Products/Services behavior and on detection of something out of the way or extraordinary. It could monitor suspicious usage by employees or detect attempts such as multiple guesses at a password.
Experts however opine that the acquisition of the security firm could also mean that Microsoft is trying to diversify and stay relevant in different sectors of business. In the coming days with increased use of cloud Relevant Products/Services services, and BYOD (bring-your-own-device) apps , security will be of paramount importance.
