As of this week, Microsoft customers can download windows 10 for free. Find out how by carefully reading our recommendations below.
In case you own a Windows-based device, you probably have already received Microsoft’s notification informing you that the subscription period for the download of the new operating system has already begun. Some customers have already taken to the company’s official website to register for the free Windows 10 version, but very few of them have actually managed to carry this task through the end.
The majority of the customers could not say whether the program is really free or whether there are additional fees involved. Microsoft’s spokespersons clarified this aspect on Friday by letting interested customers know that Windows 10 is completely free.
But and there is always a but, the software will only work until October 2015, when the official version of the system will be released. Customers, who want to upgrade their computers to the official version of Windows 10 at the end of the trial period will most likely have to pay the program’s price; otherwise, they will simply have to make do with the Beta version.
As one might expect, the news might prevent customers from upgrading their computers to Windows 10. The majority of them refuse to turn their devices into testing machines for Microsoft’s new operating system.
Indeed, the company has confirmed through an official statement, that the Beta version will be used to gather feedback from their users. As customers get accustomed to the new looks and feels of Windows 10, Microsoft will receive notifications about positive and negative aspects of the program.
The sad news, however, is that once they switch to Windows 10, customers can no longer go back to the versions they have been using before. They only have two possibilities: to purchase the official and much better version, we might add, or to continue with the trial model.
Judging from the brief previews that the tech company has provided tech savvies with, Windows 10 has, indeed been redesigned with a tridimensional look suitable both for desktop and mobile devices.
The company has further informed that the software will be available for free download starting on July 29. Interested users will have to sign up for a Microsoft, Skype, Outlook or Hotmail account in order to gain access to the product.
Judging by the explanation that the company has provided, we’d rather wait for the official Windows 10 to be released in October 2015 before upgrading our devices. What would you do? Share your thoughts with us in the comment boxes below.
