It’s now clear that Microsoft’s Cortana means business as the company is ever expanding into the realms of the enterprise world. As part of this new policy by which it wants to better serve businesses, a new and interesting analysis system is being introduced this autumn.
It’s called Cortana Analytics Suite, and it promises to be every bit as professional as the Cortana from Halo, or the Cortana from Windows Phones. This new platform is said by Microsoft employees to take data and interpret it in ways that are relevant to the user’s enterprise, making the difficult step of passing from information to intelligent action a lot simpler.
Takeshi Numoto, the vice president of the Cloud and Enterprise detachment at Microsoft says that Cortana Analytics is essentially the future coming to life. For this they have used years of relevant research and new, innovative ideas, with all the new types of infrastructure and technologies. The new system will be capable of learning, although it is a machine, it will have the ability to store huge amounts of data in the cloud and process it while it is still in the cloud.
Security measures for the new system will include areas in which Microsoft has been experimenting for years, such as speech recognition, face recognition, as well as vision recognition. Numoto says that the system will improve the speed and quality of decisions within a company, which will in turn accelerate the whole business.
Takeshi Numoto also mentions that this effort by Microsoft is directed at keeping the pervasiveness of data, which has penetrated all mediums today, thanks to the internet. He says that at the moment, several options are available when beginning to use data. Yet, the most relevant course of action is very often elusive.
Cortana Analytics Suite will be a tool meant to be able to analyze massive data amounts. Thanks to this, companies will be able to analyze what is happening with their business, why it is happening, and predict what will happen in the future and what the correct strategy to take would be.
This can help in many areas, Microsoft maintains: from fraud detection, to recommendations offered in real time, and to predictive types of maintenance services. The product is currently being tested in the largest hospital in the northern part of New England – the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health System. They are developing a way to monitor and make analysis predictions nicknamed ImagineCare.
This new tool could prove a perfect one for small to medium businesses, as well as being a long-dreamt after product for larger enterprises.
