Have you ever wanted to find out more about NASA research? What they discovered is still a mystery for the most of us. According to the latest news, NASA has announced it will provide public access to all journal articles on research funded by the space agency. The database will be called PubSpace. There, any scientist that ever published NASA-funded work will have to upload their papers for free.
- NASA is launching a database called PubSpace, where we will have public access to all journal articles funded by the space agency.
- They hope this will make more people understand their work.
Why are they doing this now? In 2013, the government requested that research which was funded by federals to be more accessible. Of course, not all the research can go public because there are materials related to national security. However, there will be a lot of journal articles to read and it is possible we will find out more information about what is happening in space.
Another reason would be to make science more accessible. There are so many teenagers who want to study more, but they do not have the money or do not know where to start from. Anyone will be able to see what the space agency is going to do and what they discovered by now. What is more important is that other researchers can have easier access and they can discover new things or help the space agency solve some mysteries.
Dava Newman, deputy administrator at NASA said that they were celebrating that opportunity to extend access to their portfolio of scientific and technical publications. They are inviting the global community to join them in exploring our planet, air, and space.
NASA is an independent agency of the executive branch of the United States government. It is responsible for the civilian space program and for space research. Most of the U.S. space exploration efforts were made by NASA. They managed to get the first human on the Moon and they also want to take over Mars in the near future.
NASA research is focused on understanding Earth. Moreover, they are exploring planets from the Solar System and research big events that changed our planet. It shares data with many international organizations from all over the world. Now, the space agency is sharing its research with every person interested in finding out more about it.
