We are VR. The theme to the ‘90s TV show VR troopers is finally reality. So much money has went into VR research lately, that we can truly say that we are VR. And if you also happen to be a sports fan, it’s all the better for you, as now you can watch the Patriots train in VR with Google Cardboard.
- The Patriots organization began in 1959, and they were named the Boston Patriots
- The team was the first Wild Card team in NFL history to win three straight road playoff games en route to Super Bowl XX
- All three Super Bowl victories by the Patriots were decided by only three points
- Robert Kraft claims that Vladimir Putin stole his championship ring
- George R.R. Martin claims that he sees the Patriots as the NFL’s Lannisters
Even though we still won’t know until January who is going to kick off the 50th edition of the Super Bowl, football fans that happen to own a Google Cardboard device can start getting excited right about now.
A partnership between Google, Visa, the Bank of America, and of course, the New England Patriots will bring football fans throughout America to a training session with the football team. Well, not really. It will, virtually, anyway.
You don’t really even have to own the Google cardboard device, but that is definitely the experience you should be going for.
A video was released on Youtube in which you can move around the field using your mouse and keyboard, and you can witness 1:58 seconds of the New England Patriots’ training.
If being among one of the most renowned teams in the world isn’t enough for you, you can even go sit down in the stands, and enjoy the training session from there.
Of course, the experience is immeasurably better when using the Google Cardboard device, as you will watch the team train in 3-D, and will be able to run with them (don’t do it though, you could get in an accident).
The video requires the latest Chrome, Mozilla and Internet Explorer browsers in order to be played, and it indeed quite an experience.
For the event, free Google Cardboard viewers were handed out this weekend at the Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts.
