Besides announcing their Black Friday promotions, Pebble also announced a new feature: Pebble Time replies on iOS.
- Pebble smartwatches can be an alternative to Apple watch
- Pebble is releasing a new feature that enables users to reply to iPhone texts directly from their device
- Black Friday promotions bring 35% sales for Pebble smartwatch models
What’s special about Pebble’s smartwatches is that they are compatible with both Android and iOS smartphones which is definitely an advantage. In this way, customers can easily use them regardless of their phones’ operating systems.
The new feature introduced by Pebble is allowing you to reply to text messages directly from your device when you connect your smartwatch to an iPhone. However, the feature is only available to some Pebble users, being just a beta release.
In order to be able to access this texting feature you must have a Pebble Time, a Time Round or a Time Steel model of smartwatch. These models were all lunched this year. If, however, you have an older model, the app is unfortunately not available for you at this time.
If you want to reply to a text you can either do that with a voice or preloaded message. Pebble takes proud in being the first non-Apple smartwatch which allows iPhone users to have acces to voice and text messages.
In order to use this feature, you will have to bring both your Pebble watch and your iPhone up to date, set up notifications for text replies and after successfully setting up the app, you can reply to the notifications received with voice or a pre-defined response.
For those of you interested in purchasing a Pebble watch, you might be glad to find out that they are cutting about 35% of their prices for Pebble Time, Pebble Time Steel and Pebble Classic. The cheapest of them, the Pebble Classic will be sold at a price of about $70, while the most expensive, Pebble Time Steel will be almost $200 and Pebble Time costs $130. These models will be compatible with the iPhone text reply feature.
Therefore, if you’re an iPhone user but believe that an Apple watch is either too pricy or doesn’t suit you well enough, you might consider a Pebble as an alternative.
