In the wake of multiple calls from angry KFC customers about their favorite fast-food joint running out of chicken, Tower Hamlets MPS tweeted that the chicken shortage is ‘not a police matter’.

London’s police officers want to be bothered only by citizens with “serious calls.” In the U.K., over 600 KFC stores had to shut down because of a disruption in the supply chain which led to a nationwide chicken shortage. KFC has 900 locations in the United Kingdom.
Apparently, desperate customers called the police to report the incident. Some of them even contacted their representatives to help them solve the matter. One outraged customer said she was forced to dine at Burger King, and it was the second time in her life she did that.
Police did not say how many calls about fired chicken they had received, but warned citizens concerned about the issue that they are wasting police’s time.
Police Offering a ‘Gentle Reminder’
A spokesman for the department described the tweet as a “gentle reminder” to callers that their “nuisance” calls prevent police officers from focusing on the calls that really matter.
MP Neil Coyle told the press that several ‘disappointed’ constituents e-mailed him to vent their frustration with KFC.
The company announced that some of its restaurants will stay close for the remainder of the week.

- One user went as far as to call the incident as the “great KFC crisis of ’18”.
A spokesperson for the fast-food chain said that they are in talks with a new delivery partner after a new deal with its old partner, DHL, collapsed. Yet, delivering so much chicken across the country is “pretty complex,” the company added.
Customers now have a website where they can check which restaurants are open.
