Pulling A Shark Out of Water Just For A Picture

In Florida, a man was caught on camera pulling a shark out of water just for a picture and a video recording of him “bravely” wrestling the juvenile animal with his bare hands. It seems that there is no limit to entertainment, even if it means ignoring the needs of other living creatures.

  • Reports have announced the public of the thousands of sharks that have invaded the waters off of Florida’s coast
  • One man caught one of the many bull sharks within the waters and dragged up the beach
  • After taking several pictures with it, another man returned the disoriented animal into the ocean

A few days ago, the public was in an uproar after a man in Argentina took a poor baby dolphin out of the water, parading the helpless animal around for the crowd. They took selfies, pictures, and videos, ignoring the fact that the creature was dying. It spoke volumes of how little concern there is for the life of animals as long as there’s a good photo there to take.

A similar incident happened recently in Florida, where a man showed his “bravado” by grabbing a shark out of the shallow end of the ocean and pulling it up the beach with his bare hands. The video that went viral shows the beachgoer making a few attempts at grabbing the juvenile bull shark. Eventually, he managed a strong hold and dragged it up the beach where he proceeded to have a photoshoot with the disoriented animal.

The man held down the shark, posing for pictures and videos, as a quite a few others were there with cameras ready to catch his “daring act”. The incident happened just a couple of days after the ocean waters off of Florida’s coast were invaded by thousands of sharks. This is just one of the many, that had become distracted and accidentally lost on the shallow surf. And, of course, that demanded someone would pull it up to the beach and take pictures with it.

After the incident and the man had had his fill of enough photos to make sure they got his good side, another man returned the bull shark into the ocean. Reportedly, the animal struggled for a little while before it was able to swim toward the deep end once again. It was seen surfacing a few minutes later and it had, hopefully, survived the incident without any harm.

However, animal rights groups, such as World Animal Protection, have condemned the behavior of the beachgoers. It’s unfortunate that people inflict such “casual cruelty” in animals, used for entertainment purposes. They do not take the creature’s needs into consideration, according to Ashleigh Walter, the reporter who filmed the entire ordeal. It’s an incredibly inconsiderate and insensitive act, one that poses as a threat to the animal’s survival.

Not to mention the fact that it’s also highly dangerous for people.

Bull sharks are known for their aggressive nature. They have been the cause of numerous attacks and linked to 27 deaths, according to the International Shark Attack File. While this particular specimen was very young, it does not mean that it was harmless. Both the animal and the onlookers could have been injured in the process, and it all was for the purpose of getting an interesting Instagram picture. Social media approval has indeed burrowed deep into the minds of some.
