In an age where we rely on smartphones and fast connectivity, SanDisk means to ease file transfers with a wireless flash drive recently launched. Naming it Connect Wireless Stick, the company specializing in storage devices aims to make life easier for bridging the gap between mobile phones and computers.
The Connect Wireless stick come with a sleek, simple, elegant design that will be portable and easy to carry around. The available storage capacities vary from 16GB to be priced at $30 and the maximum 128GB with the price tag of $100, with two other middle options available of 32GB and 64GB depending on needs and preference.
It’s certainly not the first device of its kind, but what makes this particular one different is its aim to kill two birds with one stone. One is to ease data transfer in between multiple devices at the same time and, two, to expand the meager limitations of today’s smartphones storage space.
SanDisk has claimed that the flash drive has a strong enough bandwidth to stream both music and high-definition movies between three devices at the same time, meaning it can be used with ease by your computer, laptop and phone simultaneously.
Furthermore, a battery life of 4.5 hours has been boasted to be available on a single charge. That may be just enough to stream a small three movies marathon or listen to many, many albums without needing to be recharged.
However, if wireless transferring is not to the user’s preference or the promised high bandwidth proves to be unsatisfying, the Connect Wireless Stick comes with the usual and familiar option of being plugged into USB ports, though only at USB 2.0 speeds.
The flash drive arrives with intuitive and easy-to-use applications that will make managing between devices simple, self-explanatory and nearly effortless. It’s meant to simplify some of the more complicated aspects of other storage devices, who often take time and far too many “easy-to-use” interfaces that only makes things more difficult.
It can be a true headache sometimes to transfer files between two devices without wired connection or a third external disk to carry the data from one to another. The Connect Wireless Stick is assuring that it will achieve it seamlessly and without much effort, along with using the function of backing-up pictures and videos from your phone.
The wireless connection will be available for all the popular devices, iOS, Android, Fire, Mac and PC alike, with applications available for download on the App Store, Google Play Store or Amazon Appstore accordingly.
