Coffee and brand lovers have full services enabled all over the country, as the order Starbucks ahead app is now available everywhere in the U.S. after months of limited services across the nation. The expansion had taken place, and it’s reported to continue in October.
- The Order & Pay mobile app expanded to another 4,000 stores
- It’s now officially available for over 7,400 locations across the United States
- It was first introduced in December 2014
- In October 2015, the app will expand to Canada and the UK
In December 2014, the Mobile Order & Pay for Starbucks coffeeshops was tested in Portland, Oregon, and then spread through the Pacific Northwest by March 2015. The app has been met with incredible success, cutting down on time and opening an easier option for people often in a hurry, busy parents or physically enabled customers.
Earlier this summer, Starbucks expanded their app service across 17 states, serving in more than 4,000 chain-owned stores in the United States, but had not yet completed the map. As of today, September 22nd, the Starbucks Coffee Company have made an official announcement that their Order & Pay service is available nationwide, to over 7,400 locations, including major cities like New York, Boston, Washington, San Francisco and others.
The easy to use feature is flawlessly integrated into the My Starbucks Rewards loyalty program, which allows users to simply sign up and earn stars that will result in more caffeinated beverages. The beauty and simplicity of the app is that it offers a speedy process of ordering.
There will be no one budging you from behind while fumbling through the change in your wallet, no customer ahead of you who did not think of reading the menu before reaching the main counter, and no more general waiting in lines.
The app allows the user to simply pick a store on the map, see all the customizable options of a Starbucks coffee, pay and then bypass large lines to get their orders.
The feature on the Starbucks app is reportedly used by 16 million active users, and has only allowed them to make their order ahead of time before paying in-store. However, with the new service, the process will become even faster in an age where everything needs to be quick or instant. As proof, the major coffee chain is also currently experiment with express deliveries from smaller stores in New York City.
The Order & Pay mobile feature now makes up for 20% of their sales, and the company is looking to expand their services beyond the borders of the United States. The app will be available to both Canada and the United Kingdom stores come October, where customers will be enabled to quickly customized their order and pay before even stepping foot in a Starbucks store.
