It is said that humans continue to reproduce because God has not lost faith in his creation, just! With the birth of every child we are reassured that there is still hope. So incidents like the one mentioned below sears the conscience and make us wonder if we really are a unique species or just like all the others in a race of survival of the fittest
2 fetuses have been found dead in the San Diego County road. Both the fetuses have been deemed well developed human fetuses and are twins. The cause of the death is not known immediately. The gruesome discovery was first made by a man who called 911 Friday afternoon to report to the police. The fetus looked like dolls wrapped in quilt but on closer scrutiny it became evident that it is the grisly remains of twin fetuses. Paramedics have confirmed that both the fetuses are dead and homicide detectives are investigating. The Sheriff’s Lt. John Maryon informed that the fetuses are well developed and five months old ore over
The incident chillingly reminds the Los Angeles fetus disposal scandal of 1982 which erupted after the discovery of 16,000 aborted fetuses which were stored at Malvin Weisberg’s Woodland Hills, California. The incident was dubbed as a national tragedy by Ronald Reagan.
Different states have different Fetus Disposal Laws and most states require the disposal of fetuses and aborted babies in a proper and hygienic manner. Most laws want the fetuses to be burned and changed into a form which is not recognizable as a human body part. However it could be argued that this is another holier than thou attitude which makes the fetuses from grisly into a more hygienic and presentable form. The ethical question still remains unanswered!
