The decisions of Trump concerning global warming are starting to prove that the President-elect do cares about this planet. He has recently signaled dramatic changes in the environmental policy of the US. Donald Trump has nominated Myron Ebell, a global-warming skeptic, to lead the proposed “EPA transition team.” Specialists have argued that Trump needs to revise the data from 1944, rethink his latest move when choosing Ebell.
- Before stating that climate change is an “expensive hoax”, probably, Donald Trump might need to check climate records.
- All previous statistics regarding storms have proved that climate change is aggravating current situations.
Back in 1944, on December 17, the US Pacific Fleet led by Adm. William Halsey has received one of the major overcome from the World War II. The damage suffered by nine ships part of Task Force 38 was presumably not the effect of the enemy action. The major losses were caused by a terrible storm with 905 millibars as its barometric pressure. At that time, the speed of the wind measured al least 140 miles/hour. The storm was called Typhoon Cobra.
In 1979, the Pacific Ocean was disturbed by another storm, even greater, called Typhoon Tip. During that year, this storm was known to be the 12th typhoon happening in 1979, being considered the 19th storm of the year. The pressure of the sea-level established a new record of 870 mbar. The winds managed to reach approximately 160 mph, in the center of the storm even measuring 190 mph.
The diameter of the storm was estimated at 1,380 miles, being able to cover the western part of the US. Back in 1987, routine aircraft flights seized their efforts to in the west of the Pacific Ocean. Nevertheless, scientists continued to study Typhoon Tip, considering it one of the most terrible storms that ever happened in that area. A recent survey of the Typhoons Gay (1992) and Angela (1995) has demonstrated that one of them could have been more severe.
These two compared to Typhoon Haiyan and Hurricane Patricia was a lot more dangerous. The storms and typhoons are developing to be more serious as years go by due to climate change. The increasing levels of carbon dioxide from our planet’s atmosphere managed to be higher than the statistics have shown for the last 400,000 years.
The decisions of Trump concerning climate change should only be made after the analysis of the massive threat that lies upon our planet, being on the verge of destruction due to human-made actions that caused the emission of greenhouse gasses.
