People are still skeptical about what the outer space holds, but the founder of Asgardia, Igor Ashurbeyli will try to change everybody’s view. Some see space exploration as a possibility available only for powerful countries. Ashurbeyli believes that a space station capable of orbiting around the planet will become a sign of sovereignty, promoting the exploration of space and the guarding of Terra.
- Scientists have been thinking of developing a nation in space.
- Asgardia is prone to develop and nurture our love for cosmos.
This new idea of a nation in space known as Asgardia represents an unhindered society which is the root of knowledge and science. This society will have as a cornerstone the importance of each and every human life. Authorities are distrustful when it comes to this nation in space. They argue that national sovereignty is forbidden in cosmos by international laws.
Contrary to this idea which supports Earth’s laws, there is another side of the problem which refers to the exploration of space able to develop spectacular achievements. The Asgardia project is prone to nurture humans’ love of space. Experts working in this project assume that the sky should not be seen as a limit, but as an infinite possibility. We could all have double citizenship: firstly, here on Earth and secondly, up there in outer space.
Asgardia’s nation in space is prone to launch in 2067. This organization’s goals are to provide access to the technology of space to more and more countries and also to defend Terra from space junk and comets. Ashurbeyl has claimed that his team intention is to establish a space station which could be the lab of all great scientists from Earth. They could go up there and use it to develop their researches, being able to analyze space more closely.
Lately, only 13 countries out of the total number on Earth have managed to set their satellites into the orbit. Anyone on our planet can be an Asgardia citizen. That is why Ashurbeyli explains that every country has equal rights to develop space studies and to foster their care for space missions. Asgardia’s other purpose is to become a member of the United Nations.
The ex-dean at The International Space University, Dr. Joseph Pelton has argued that the new project Asgardia is meant to organize space government so accurate triggering the amazement of United Nations. That is a bold plan. Probably all of us are wondering whether it will succeed. Besides naming itself the nation in space, Asgardia needs to be launched out there. This new society promises to praise the rules implied in the Outer Space Treaty. If you are willing to be a space citizen, you should prepare yourself. Technology will soon bring you there.
