It’s time to start working on your beach body again, with summer only eight months away, seeing as the three brand new GPS watches from Garmin made their debut today.
- The 230
- The 235
- The 630
They already make some of the world’s favorite watches, but today they got us going again with their three brand new cool sports watches. Never has tracking your athletic performance blended so well with staying hip and in style.
The Forerunner 230 comes to us in different color combinations, for different tastes. Black and white, purple and white and yellow and black. It comes up to a cool $325 on its own. But it can also be purchased with one of the brand’s heart-rate monitors, external and designed for your chest. The price of the combination is $240. The reason for this pairing is the fact that, unlike its brother, the 235, 230 doesn’t have a built in heart-monitor.
This is why the 235 will, probably, attract the most attention out of the three. The beauty takes into consideration all the steps you take, the hours you sleep and it tracks your daily goals, much like your girlfriend does. It’s also mainly for runners, just like a girlfriend is. It can show you what zone you’re in, for example cardio, or fat-burn, it tells you the distance you covered so far and the speed at which you ran or jogged. Afterwards, you can see your results on Garmin’s online platform. You can also use it to show off to your friends.
Other specifications include music control, notifications for calls and messages, it has a 16 hour battery life and it’s water resistant to 50 meters. The watch is probably better than my phone.
Its price is a whopping $420.
The last but not least is the 630. It’s definitely not the least because it costs $510. It does everything its brothers do and more. For example it shows you your stress levels, your lactate thresholds and your performance condition. Also, you can buy it from specialist runner stores only. Which is probably why it’s more expensive. Also, it’s probably why it’s for hipsters.
But you can also buy a $600 version of the watch, in a package deal with Garmin’s ANT+ HRM-Run heart rate strap. But, if you really want the hipster one, buy the 235. It comes in black-marsala color.
