Building up the hype for fans of the franchise, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 is showing off more ahead of its release in the fall this year by providing us with a new video that captures the essence of the upcoming videogame.
Intermingling the refreshed game play and new graphics with interviews from professionals skaters, the trailer recently released by Activision is making fans understand the soulful goal of representing diversity in the world of the sport.
They’re heading in a new direction with it, and it will hopefully rise up to the challenge.
Previous Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games have arguably been the biggest and most successful of their kind, with a variety of pros always represented and playable, numerous styles and customization features for players to create their own skater. The last few games have undeniably worked quite well on storylines, which is more than expected for a sports game.
Tony Hawk’s Underground 2, for example, has been an innovation to the genre, and the scale is reportedly about to be upped by the next installment of the skateboarding game, where players will have available the next generation of talented skaters.
Ranging from renown ‘stuntmen’ skaters like Aaron “Jaws” Homoki, to Chris Cole, David Gonzales and the first two female additions in Lizzie Armato and Leticia Bufoni, the upcoming Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 is bursting with diversity that accurately depicts the fun and daring world of the sport.
There are various styles that would cater perfectly to every taste, according to Tony Hawk himself, a professional skater who has garnered fame with both his professional achievements and trademark videogame. His son, Riley Hawk, is following in his father’s footsteps and will also be playable to hit the ramps and half-pipes in his own style.
The new trailer shows off the new cartoon-ish game play interspersed with interviews from excited new professional skaters who had either spent their childhoods or young adult lives playing the game, and now living their dream by being represented within its roster.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 will be released on September 29th of this year on next generation consoles like Xbox One and PlayStation 4 for $60, and sadly for PC users, no word has come out about its potential release.
However, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 players will not be left behind, as the game will be released for last-gen consoles on November 10th for $40. Get ready for new tricks, fresh styles and an excellent soundtrack the franchise has been known for.
