Watch Sheriff’s Deputy Whip And Then Nae Nae

February 1, 2016 by Kelly Holzschlag Leave a Comment

Since the video has gone viral, you might as well watch Sheriff’s Deputy whip and then nae nae to the song’s famous beats and choreography. And, surprisingly, he wasn’t that bad.

El Paso County Sheriff’s Deputy, Tony Scherb, is retiring after 29 years of service dedicated to law enforcement. Across his career, Scherb has CJC Floor Security, Court and Transport, Patrol, and has served as a Background Investigator. Along the 15 years he spent in the Traffic Unit, he became “the heart and soul” of the DUI Program.

He had seen to significant contributions and made a major impact on matters fighting against driving under the influence (DUI). Be it speaking at conferences or directly applying the safety measures for drivers, it seems that Scherb’s career has been focused on sparing thousands of lives from such unfortunate accidents. He shared his knowledge and experience with new recruits and veterans alike. His impact stretched over several other law enforcement agencies.

However, after nearly three decades, Scherb is retiring, leaving his badge behind and a reputation for being “exceptionally knowledgeable” and “highly professional”. In celebration of his retirement, however, it seems that Scherb means to mock that last remark by busting a move in the elevator of the Sheriff’s Office. Scherb, in his bright orange shirt and tie, starts dancing to Silentó’s “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” that has plagued our minds last year.

The catchy beat and moves seem to infect the Sheriff’s deputy along with several of his co-workers. Not in front of the bosses though.

In between breaks, however, the camera installed in the elevator captures the man dancing with gusto and recruiting. At the very least, his enthusiasm makes a bigger impression than the choreography itself. Scherb lip syncs to the words, shakes his hips, waves his hands. The Sheriff’s Deputy seems to be heading into retirement with a short and fun video that shows that while his career was marked by professionalism, his retirement won’t.

Scherb will be free to whip and nae nae as much as he likes, with twerking included or any other dance move that is trending nowadays. It should be almost a certainly that “Hotline Bling” is coming.

According to the Sheriff’s Office announcement, Scherb has been an invaluable member of the team, a kind member of the family, and he will be gravely missed. His impact in law enforcement matched his generosity, volunteering at numerous organizations to help those more unfortunate. Be it serving food for Thanksgiving or dressing up as Santa for Christmas, Sherrif’s Deputy Tony Scherb was there to do his duty.
