What to expect at the CES 2015? The list can be summed up in a jiffy. There is not much new or revolutionary other than slightly cheaper and better versions of technology which has not enamored the consumers. What we have here are connected homes, activity trackers, cars that can drive without drivers. It means that there are TV packed with something which they call quantum dots, not to do anything with quantum physics but that the dots will reproduce colors in much higher order and finesse. The CES 2015 kicks off this week in Las Vegas and the hottest fields are related to internet connected cars and wearable devices.
Later in January, the North American International Auto Show is also going to take place and there will be presentations by the elite in the auto industry including Mercedes Benz and Ford who are going to show there prowess in the field of cars with link with mobile devices.
Among the notable addendums this year will be eco friendly technology. The Conference on Climate Change is going to take place in Paris and an agreement on cutting down green house gas emission is expected. Therefore, this year Driverless cars and hydrogen fuel cells are going to be showcased on a big scale.
Karen Chupka, senior vice president for the International CES, said in a release, “The ‘Internet of Things’ is the hottest topic in tech right now. It’s all about the opportunity to connect everyday items like cars, home security systems and kitchen appliances to networked devices like PCs and smartphones for greater control and management of our everyday lives.”
Wearable devices are one of the fastest growing segments and the big product this year will be Apple iWatch. Companies like Intel and Google also are trying to obtain consumer attention in this growing product space.
