On Friday, a man from Fond du Lac, in Wisconsin, downed his 30,000th Big Mac, smashing the previous world record. Don Gorske, 64, ate the milestone burger at the same McDonald’s restaurant he first got a taste of a Big Mac in 1972.
He recalls that he had just received his driver license when he entered the McDonald’s 45 years ago. At the time, the restaurant was the only one in the town. Gorske is now the proud holder of Guinness Book’s “Most Big Macs consumed” title.
The McDonald’s restaurant on Military Road publicized the Big Mac fan’s feat at 3:00 p.m. The man ate the burger under the “golden arches” while the franchise owner D.W. Rause was on looking.
- Rause acknowledged that the customer has developed a “passion for Big Macs.”
- The man has been a loyal customer of the restaurant for nearly half a century.
McDonalds USA praised Gorske for his “enthusiasm” for the fast-food chain’s beloved beefed-up sandwich. The company appreciated the retired prison guard’s loyalty.
This one is a biggie for me, something I have been looking forward to,
the man said before gobbling down the burger.
Gorske Smashes His Previous Record with His 30,000th Big Mac
In October 2017, Gorske set his first world record for the most Big Macs consumed. A team from the Guinness Book of World Records filmed him enjoying his 29,482nd burger and broadcast the feat on Facebook Live.
On Friday, Gorske showed the proof that he ate his 30,000th Big Mac. He has an impressive collection of receipts, burger wrappers, and containers. He explained that he kept track of all the sandwiches because no one would have believed him otherwise. The man lost around 7,000 containers in 1990 when a tornado hit his house.
When asked if the jokes about his weird hobby were bothering him, he replied that his last medical check-up showed that his blood pressure and cholesterol were “perfect.”
