There is the kid-friendly side of YouTube. This version allows curious yet green minds to surf the video side of the Internet safely. It was first introduced in 2015, and now it is getting one of its biggest updates. YouTube Kids will offer new settings that are serving an aged user base.

YouTube Kids Focuses More on Age-Appropriate Content

The YouTube side for kids has previously received criticism for its inability to properly guard youngsters against the full experience of this platform. Nonetheless, this network is still offering a safer navigation than the main app will ever be.

The Kids app sports a simplistic interface. Its algorithms grew to sympathize with fun music videos better, and it also promotes their own curated collections of kid-friendly content. The main publishers that enjoy better influence on this app are Jim Henson TV, DreamWorks TV, National Geographic Kids, Reading Rainbow, Mother Goose Club, and several others.

Parents Will Be Able to Create Accounts for Offspring Right from Their Main YouTube Account

YouTube has previously addressed parents’ complaints by allowing them to personalize the app’s search settings and choose their own passwords. With the advent of the new update, adults get the chance to create accounts for their children from their own Google account. This way, they will have better control over the customization of their secondary accounts.

As for kids’ treats, there are plenty with the new revamp. First of all, the app will adapt its interface design to better fit different age groups. In the past, the app was better answering the tastes of preschoolers while neglecting the sense of style of school-age community.

This time, kids get the chance to safeguard their profiles from the curiosity of their brothers and sisters with their very first passcode. However, parents can still override this layer of security, yet kids gain more privacy benefits this way.

YouTube Kids is now available in 37 countries and registers at least 11 million active viewers on a weekly basis. Even though its guarding measures for the little ones are not perfect, it is still a popular app.
