In the wake of the climate change talks in Paris, many have taken to their personal blogs, of Facebook pages, or pretty much any media where they can share their opinions on the global warming issue our planet is facing. Well, even machines care about the future of their our planet, as Schwarzenegger states his views on climate change.
- 7 million people die every year from pollution,
- That is more than all the murders, suicides and car accidents combined
- Every day, 19,000 people die from pollution caused by fossil fuels
- The scientific world doesn’t really agree on much, but it does agree that fossil fuels are running out
The former governor and current Terminator took to his Facebook page yesterday, and went again to share his personal thoughts regarding the serious problem our planet is facing.
He made his point nicely and elegantly, although he did say he doesn’t give a damn if you believe in climate change.
Schwarzenegger starts his Facebook speech by addressing those asking him why he cares, those who don’t believe in climate change, and those who, as he puts it, use four letter words.
He continues by asking them if they accept the deaths brought on by fossil fuel and pollution each year, and if they have an alternative for when the fossil fuel will runs out.
The steel Austrian then stated that he wants to have a plan, and continues with one of the most accurate analogies regarding those who want to keep using fossil fuels.
He compares those with the last horse and buggy salesman, not wanting to give way to the advent of the car, and with the last Blockbuster investor at the rise of Netflix.
He continues to say exactly how and why climate change is a real danger, and to give multiple reasons for wanting a greener future, one not based around fossil fuels. He also makes an imagination exercise, prompting readers to choose where to spend one hour without a gas mask, in a room with an electrical car, or in one that runs on gas.
Overall, the former governor of California makes a pretty good point, one that is actually much more eloquent than others I’ve heard.
