The Chicken Nugget Diet Is Unsurprisingly Unhealthy

Hopefuls should not rush to get their portion of chicken nuggets

There have been hopeful tips, but nutritionists warn that the chicken nugget diet is unsurprisingly unhealthy, so it might not be the miracle solution to losing weight.

  • Chick-Fill-A advised costumers to eat packs of 8 grilled chicken nuggets per day
  • Their diet consisted in consuming their product once every 3 to 4 hours
  • It’s a low-calorie, high-protein consumption, but lacks in vital nutrients
  • The diet will also cost up to $700 per month

It seems that there is no easy way out there to lose weight and remain healthy at the same time. There is no miracle diet, in spite of what clickbaits and ads tell you. The chicken nugget diet is, apparently, no different. While the company is certainly not lying about its ability to shed some extra pounds, it’s neither recommended for your health nor is it successful long term.

Chick-Fill-A posted a recommendation on their takeout bags that had the internet buzzing. Eat a pack of 8 of their grilled chicken nuggets every three to four hours and see yourself losing weight. Sounds almost too good to be true. And, in fact it is. Of course, the bag also advises regular exercise to maintain a balance in your lifestyle, but it’s not enough to ensure yourself the proper nutritional needs.

Although, eating grilled chicken nuggets all day and losing weight? Few wouldn’t be tempted to at least give it a shot.

Nutritionists, however, will be quick to squash those dreams. The “chicken nugget cleanse” isn’t actually all that beneficial overall. While it’s a low-calorie, high-protein sort of diet, it will certainly lack in other respects. Lisa Moskovitz from the New York Nutrition Group stated that eating chicken nuggets all day will result in insufficient vitamins, fiber, and antioxidants. As delicious as that nugget might be, it’s not enough to take care of all your nutritional needs.

Moskovitz also stated that there is indeed a low calorie consumption if following Chick-Fill-A’s advice. One pack of 8 grilled chicken nuggets contains only 140 calories, 3 grams of fat, and 23 grams of protein. It does not sound like such a bad deal. Weight loss will occur, but it will be only for a little while and it certainly will not be sustainable. So, the recommendation offered by Chick-Fill-A is not false, but should be taken with a grain of salt.

Furthermore, it was estimated that maintaining the diet for one full month will cost you up to $700. That’s money that could be spent on better means of approaching a healthy weight loss program, one that includes vegetables and fruits. Chicken can only get you so far without the much needed vitamins and minerals. According to experts, seven bills is a “waste of money” to spend on just one type of food.

In addition, chicken nugget lovers don’t have that much of a reason to be disappointed. A good majority of them actually prefer the fried chicken nuggets, not the grilled variety. So, it wouldn’t have been a dream come true anyway.
