The police have unveiled that the mystery armed civilian that gunned down and killed a gunman who wounded at least two at a Washington State Walmart on Sunday night is a medic and a pastor.
The police found out about the incident while moving toward a vehicle driving in the wrong direction near the store. They learned that somebody carjacked several cars at the store and shots were fired.
- Police officers found one of the shooter’s victims, a 16-year old girl, who was taken to a hospital.
- The first reports about shots being fired in Tumwater Walmart’s parking lot came at 5:30 p.m.
The suspect allegedly stole the girl’s car, which was later found in the parking lot. Officers identified the carjacker as Tim Day, 44. Witnesses saw him firing a gun at a display case inside the store. Fortunately, no one in the store was wounded.
Pastor Guns Down Shooter
Day reportedly left the store shortly after firing the shots and tried to steal another car from a man. He shot the driver in the process. The man was taken to a Seattle hospital, but his condition remains unclear.
Police officers said the suspect tried to carjack a third car in the parking lot, but he was shot dead by an armed civilian. Police said the man who killed the suspect is a pastor and an ER medical technician at the Oakville Fire Department.
Authorities said the pastor was accompanied by another man who was also armed. After the suspect was taken down, the pastor used the medical tools in his car’s first-aid kit on the wounded driver. The driver, however, was in critical condition as of Monday morning.
A witness that was in the parking lot when the gunman was shot down said he was thankful that the two men stopped the shooter.
