Xbox One Gamers Are Finally Getting Rocket League

 

The wait is almost over, as Xbox One gamers are finally getting Rocket League on their preferred console. It’s better late than never.

• Rocket League launched on July 7th, 2015 on PlayStation 4 and PC
• Developer Psyonix announced that Rocket League is coming to Xbox One in 2016
• The release date for Xbox One is February 17th, 2016
• Rocket League will cost $20 and will include all three DLCs

Back in July 2015, Rocket League basically took the gaming community by a storm after presenting itself with a very simple premise: soccer with cars. Surely, many others have thought of it and even put it into execution. However, none seemed to have matched the entertainment value, creativity, and mechanics that Psyonix managed to bring. And, thus, a new hit game was born.

Since its release last summer, Rocket League gathered numerous fans, a massive community, and even won two Game Awards last year. One was for Best Independent Game while the other for Best Sports/Racing Game that beat out other titans such as FIFA or Pro Evolution Soccer. In fact, it was deemed as one of the most fun new experiences of its kind of last year by the gaming community.

And, its success has not stopped yet. According to Psyonix, Rocket League now has “11 million players strong”, and it’s all without Microsoft’s console. For the time being, the highly entertaining game of soccer with cars is available only on the PlayStation 4 and PC. It arrives with cross-platform multiplayer, which means that console and PC gamers have been able to battle it out against each. Xbox One, on the other hand, has been left out of the running.

In December 2015, Psyonix announced that Rocket League is coming for Microsoft’s platform. And they’re holding true to their word. Next week, on February 17^th, Xbox One players will finally be able to get their hands on the extremely entertaining multiplayer game.

Rocket League will cost $19.99, but in order for gamers to not feel left out, this will include all its released DLCs. That means that Supersonic Fury, Revenge of the Battle-Cars, and Chaos Run will be included in the pack without extra charge. It seems that the developer is doing all they can to make sure Xbox One players don’t feel the months of being left out.

And, to further entire them, Psyonix gave a glimpse at the Xbox One exclusive skins that will be included in the deal as well. This includes the Armadillo based on the Gears of War franchise and the HogSticker as a reference to Microsoft’s Halo series. In addition, there will be several variants and items, such as the Overcharge Rocket Trail.

Perhaps that will be enough to make up for the fact that Xbox One players will still be a little isolated from the rest. The multiplayer system’s cross platform capabilities do not yet include Microsoft’s console. So, if you’re playing Rocket League on Xbox One, you’ll only be playing it with and against gamers on the same console.

However, maybe one day, all Rocket League players will be able to battle it out against each other, bumper to bumper, no matter the platform.
