Season 7 is the penultimate for one of the most successful TV shows of all times, Game of Thrones. It also offered the fans some of the most awaited scenes. For instance, three Stark children have finally enjoyed a little reunion. However, the most thrilling encounter was that between Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen. The public still awaits for the two of them to create one of the most powerful alliances in this fictional universe. In the meantime, their visit to the cave might support a major theory for the series.
Jon Invites Daenerys in the Dragonstone Cave to Show Her a Piece of History
Last Sunday’s episode hinted at the beginning of a love story between the King in the North and the Mother of Dragons. This scenario will definitely create a case of incest, yet George R. R. Martin who is also a screen writer for the TV show is not shy from replicating such tabus.
With Dany’s permission, Jon starts exploiting the obsidian mine beneath Dragonstone which is one of the few lethal weapons against White Walkers. However, he invites the Dragon Mother down below to witness some ancient cave drawings.
Centuries ago, the Children of the Forrest united with humans to end the army of the dead. They marked down the victory through these cave drawings. Jon hopes that this piece of history would convince Daenerys to join his fight with her dragons.
Co-creator David Benioff Confirmed an Intimate Tension between the Two Leaders Which Could Support a Major Theory
However, the scene ended just before Jon and Dany got lost in an intense and possibly romantic gaze in each other’s eyes. This moment added fuel to an old yet major theory. The prediction concerns the two leaders following their alliance and hearts into marriage.
Co-creator David Benioff backed up the interpretation of this scene. He stated that the two leading characters are also experiencing an internal conflict. On the one hand, they have to act in the interest of their people. On the other hand, the heart urges them to answer to their own feelings.
