Based on a recent press release issued by the company, more than 2000 John Deere lawn tractors have been recalled for brake arm issues. The company has stated that the arm could brake causing serious crash incidents, so customers are kindly asked to take their lawn tractors to the closest car repair shops.
John Deere law tractors have proven themselves reliable on many occasions, but the recent models that the company has commercialized present certain physical flaws which might pose serious risks to users’ safety. According to the company’s spokespersons, 2070 lawn tractors have a flawed brake arm which could fail causing severe injuries to drivers.
So far, no injury or incident has been reported, but the company wants to make sure no such events are registered. For that matter, the complete list of faulty vehicles has been published on the official website of John Deere, together with the instructions that users must follow in order to determine whether their tractors must be repaired or not.
According to the company, tractors have to belong to the D110, D125, D130, D140, D155, D160 and D170 collections of models in order to require repairs. The faulty lawn tractors also have a serial number that begins with 1GXD. In case you don’t know where this information is displayed, the company explains that the model number is usually printed on the left and right side of the hood, whereas the serial number is placed on the left side of the tractor, right under the fender.
The company has already withdrawn some of the fault models from the market, but they still have to repair the 2070 vehicles that have been acquired since May 2015. According to their reports, the lawn tractors were sold at Home Depot and various John Deere dealers across the country. Their prices ranged from $1,700 to $2,700, the press release read.
The company will try to directly contact customers in the following period, but they are also asking for clients’ cooperation. John Deere has reassured customers that the repair of the flaw will be completely free and that the company will take care of all the procedures as soon as clients inform them that they possess a faulty model of lawn tractors.
