We’ll pretty soon see LG Bello II, the next affordable smartphone, hit the market, but what are we to expect from the next top-model of the L series by the Korean manufacturer? Judging by the title, we’d expect something designed for a homeless man who’d just as well be happy with anything, poor guy.
But no. This phone delivers. It’s low end specs, are not low end, but medium. It’s an entry level phone that was built with a flagship phone in mind, and then downgraded. But not too much, because it can easily perform just as good as a G4, the pride of the Korean makers. And it preserves tech specs unique to the flagship devices – like the Knock Code.
So, what else does this beautiful, design oriented smartphone offer? Well, it’s all you can eat, metaphorically obviously. The five inch display is becoming more and more of a must, even in entry level phones (the Lumia 535’s screen is just as large as their flagship’s), as more and more have the big screen which can just barely fit in your hand. Yet, I’m not here to criticize, as it brings in much more space for that beautiful FWVGA, 854 by 480 pixels resolution display.
Beneath this display, which has a quite low pixel per inch ratio of just 196 pixels, lies quite a punchy quad-core processor amounting to 1.3GHz. Still, it may very well be the same as the CPU of the previous Bello, which may prove quite an unimaginative decision for LG, as it is sure to draw back a few perspective buyers looking for an upgrade. Still, if your heart delivers, why would you change it?
That’s exactly what LG thought. The phone boast 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory, which is essentially now the norm for entry versions. You can add a MicroSD card – also the norm. Camera-wise, the LG has a main eye of 8MPs, as well as a front, selfie eye with a more than sufficient 5MPs.
Here, the smart guys behind the phone added another two features borrowed from the Gs. Gesture Shot and Selfie Flash. The latter is good when taking portraits in low light, to at least have some kind of light, while the formers is really… a very cute feature. With GestureShot you can make a gesture in front of the front camera, and it will immediately take a shot. Pretty cool, eh?
The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop doesn’t need any explaining, and neither does the 4.0 Bluetooth. The phone has a battery of 2,540 mAh which will let you take selfies all day, and all night. The handset comes in White, Gold, and Titan (essentially black).
