Man Rocking Cowboy Hat Stops Armed Robbery with Bare Hands [Video]

A man rocking a cowboy hat made international headlines for stopping an attempted armed robbery in a Mexican supermarket with his bare hands. The store’s cameras recorded the entire incident before the police arrived.

The video shows the man standing beside the cash register when a wannabe robber entered the location and started threatening the cashier with a handgun. Footage of the incident was uploaded on Facebook Monday and has been seen for more than 100,000 times.

• The clip was titled “thwarted robbery” in Spanish. The store is located in Monterrey, Mexico.

The video shows the cowboy trying to pay for his goods when the robber enters the store, points a gun at him and the cashier, and asks the cashier to give him cash and goods.

Just moments later, the suspect made a huge mistake: he turned his back to the Cowboy as new customers entered the store. While the gunman was threatening other customers, the cowboy is seen charging toward the suspect and tackling him from behind.

Cowboy Hero Is Uninjured

While the cowboy is wrestling the gunman to the ground another man, who looks like a butcher, enters the scene and picks up the suspect’s gun which landed on the floor in the fight.

At one point, the suspect pulls out a knife and tries to attack the cowboy but with no success. The man manages to disarm the suspect once more without being wounded. Next, the wannabe robber attempts to flee the scene, but the cowboy and two store employees restrain him again.

The local police said the suspect was arrested but wouldn’t identify him.

The mysterious cowboy hat-wearing man has been praised as a hero on social media ever since.
