The African elephants are in danger

African elephants are in danger because of humans

the African elephant is endangered

We know that there are many species endangered because of human activity. However, it is hard to think that, in the future, the African elephants could not survive. According to a study, the number of elephants has declined due to ivory traders across the continent. In the last years,  more than 30 percent of the population of African elephants died and there will more in the future.

  • The African elephants are in danger because of humans.
  • People want to sell the ivory and the authorities want to fight against them to protect the elephants.

Researchers think that if we are not able to save the elephant, we can’t protect the rest of animals that live in Africa. The problem is humans are responsible for this thing. The authorities should involve more and make laws that protect the elephants against those who want to kill them for their ivory.

In Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo or Cameroon things is worse. Most of the elephants died. Those which are still alive have no protection against humans. There are people who want to help and they donated money to protect the elephants. These smart and big creatures are endangered. We should be aware that many animals that are very popular for humans begin to disappear.

There will be more research to discover why the African elephants are in danger and what we can do about it. The ivory trading is banned. However, the domestic trade of ivory between countries is legal. The presidents of the United States and China said they are going to fight against these trades and the sales of ivory will not be legal.

If the African elephants disappear, this will affect the tourism. There are many people who come in those countries to see these animals. When the animals will be killed, the tourists will not come to Africa because there will be nothing to see and the authorities will not take care of the parks.

People should realize that even though animals have some benefits, they are more important for us alive.  We are hoping that the authorities will make some changes and the African elephants will survive in the future.
